Our Home Contents Takaful provides coverage for household goods, fixtures & fittings and personal effects which belongs to you or for which you are legally responsible for.

What can be covered?

Your home contents; everything from your furniture, appliances and to your personal belongings is at risk from things like theft or burglary as well as fire damages and natural calamities.

Our Home Contents Takaful plan provides protections against such unexpected risks for:

1. Household Goods and Personal Effects belonging to you (or for which you are legally responsible) or domestic servants permanently residing with you.

2. Fixtures and Fittings belonging to you (or for which you are responsible) not being landlord’s fixtures and fittings.

3. Interior Decorations belonging to you where you are the tenant of the private dwelling or where you are the owner but are not responsible for insuring the private dwelling.

Some of the perils covered:

Fire explosion lightning earthquake
Storm and flood
Riot Civil Commotion Strike labor and political disturbances
Collision by Vehicles
Escape of water from tanks pipes or apparatus or fixed heating installation
Resulting damage by theft or attempted theft involving entry to or exit from the building by forcible and violent means or by deception as a means of entry
Subsidence and/or heave of the site on which the buildings stand and/or land slip
Falling trees or parts thereof

General Exclusions

Cash, currency notes, bank notes
Property covered by any other Takaful/Policy
Securities and documents of any kind
Motorcycles or other mechanically propelled vehicles aircraft watercraft sailboards surf boards caravans trailers and portions parts and accessories of any these
Any part of the structure of the Home including ceilings wallpaper and the like
Loss or damage caused by domestic animals
Loss or damage to goods in freezers and/or refrigerators caused by failure of the supply of electricity as a direct or indirect consequence of a deliberate act including strikes by supply authority and/or their employees
Malicious damage caused by you your paying guests or tenants
Damage due to coastal erosion
Loss or damage caused during tree felling, lopping or topping
Loss or damage occurring while your private dwelling has been left insufficiently furnished for normal habitation for more than 30 days

Important instructions

1. Should make sure that you take all necessary action to minimize the losses.

2. In the event of a fire, collision involving third party, burglary/theft or malicious damage claim, you must notify the police as soon as possible and obtain a police report.

3. All damaged items should be preserved for inspection.

4. Do not admit liability at any point or offer to settle the claim unless you have obtained the written consent from Takaful Operator.
